Avant Wellness was founded because we saw a need for lasers that were more intuitive, highly effective and affordable. Our challenge was to make lasers easier for doctors to use so we designed a lightweight, cordless laser that fits in the palm of your hand. But that was only the beginning. We increased the power and provided two lasers in one–red and infrared— to dramatically enhance the effectiveness.

About the Founder Andy Hewitson

Andy Hewitson is the founder and CEO of Avant Wellness Systems, a manufacturer of therapeutic lasers in California. Andy is a maker entrepreneur with a passion for integrative health.. He is an electro-mechanical engineer skilled in manufacturing technologies, software design, mechanical design, and usability. Andy founded Avant after witnessing the power of therapeutic lasers and recognizing the opportunity to create a device that could truly complement the clinician. 

Avant’s mission is to increase accessibility to laser therapy. Avant pursues this mission through technology innovation, partnerships in education, adding new knowledge to the literature through clinical research, expanding indications for use, and promoting public awareness.
